Kodak POC Computed Radiography – The Modern, Digital Solution

Kodak POC Computed Radiography – The Modern, Digital Solution

The Kodak POC CR series offer flexibility and economy in a highly compact design that can be used wherever space is at a premium. “POC” in this case is short for Kodak Point-Of-Care, which means that the equipment can be used wherever it is needed. This makes the Kodak POC CR ideal for use in patient hospital rooms, the emergency room, examination room – any place where a user-friendly, portable and reliable method of imaging is needed.

What It Is – How It Works

Kodak POC Computed Radiography (CR) units consist of the laser scanner (CR reader), phosphor imaging plates and the necessary software.  The imaging plate is positioned beneath the patient where the x-ray image is to be made, then is fed into the scanner where it can be processed, stored and viewed in digital format. The image can also be loaded to a Kodak PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) where the image can be enhanced and/or enlarged.

The Kodak Point-Of-Care Advantage

Beyond flexibility and portability, the Kodak Point-Of-Care CR Unit (which is bundled with the Kodak PACS) means there is no need for toxic chemicals or dark room facilities; additionally, the institution or clinic saves on storage space, since these x-ray images are digitized and can be stored on disk, DVD or a server. The Kodak POC CR also saves a great amount of time; images are complete and ready to upload to the Kodak PACS in as little as 15 seconds.

Choices

Your clinic or private practice can enjoy the convenience and economy of the Kodak POC CR at a cost of as little as $500 per month – a fraction of what it would otherwise cost to develop and store traditional x-ray images. There are three packages to choose from, two of which are bundled with the Kodak PACS and can process up to sixty plates per hour. These also include concurrent web-based DICOM viewers, allowing you to get the most out of your Kodak PACS. Learn more right now about what the new Kodak POC CR units can do for your patients.

Help answer the question about Digital Solution

What's a good digital solution for my DVD collection?
I have a large DVD collection, about 600-700 discs. I would like to put them onto big hard drives instead so I can save space.

What's a good solution? I want to access the movies from an external hard drive and display them on my standard def TV. Help?
PoohBear: Thanks for the answer. Have you looked into AppleTV? I'm thinking of that option but don't know if it reads VIDEO_TS.
